World supplier of steering systems for farming machinery, the challenge we win

Project Description

In 2011, after joining the ASO Group, ASO SIDERURGICA re-contacted a former major customer, a leading world supplier of steering systems for farming machinery, excavators and forklift trucks with a view to becoming a regular supplier once again.

In February 2012, ASO was given the opportunity to increase its market share by renegotiating supply logistics and quality under a new agreement. The client imposed a new policy on its suppliers and ASO felt up to the new challenge.

Under the new policy, the client demanded guaranteed supplies and a customer service with precise quantity limits on a long-term basis, which called for certain requisites in term of organisation and production process.

It took 2-3 months to run the initial organisation of supplies because twice weekly just-in-time supplies made it necessary to set up a team to handle customer information and transfer it to our production and logistics departments.

Close cooperation with such an important customer and the desire to support it in improving business objectives enabled us to achieve the target and improve our standards. In its global assessment of suppliers at the end of 2012, the client accepted ASO as an approved supplier and the 2013 mid-term result has confirmed this.

This opportunity has enabled ASO to develop in terms of internal organisation and sales volumes. This experience can be repeated with other customers seeking not only more affordable prices but also a better quality product and more efficient delivery service.

ASO’s contribution to the growth of its customers allows the company to present itself as a dynamic enterprise at the forefront of the industry that places great emphasis on optimising costs whilst also improving production processes at the same time.
